Jorge Aguirre is a New York City based filmmaker and writer. His short film, "Pancho's Revenge", won Best First Work at the San Antonio CineFestival and has been featured at the Smithsonian Institute, the Guggenheim Museum, Havana Film Festival and many other venues. The film will be featured on WNET/Channel 13 in the fall of 2001.

His most recent short, THE ABSENTEE FATHER, has begun screening at festivals throughout the U.S. He also produced the short film A MORE PERFECT UNION, which recently won the Morris Kanbar Award at the Making Waves Film Festival.

In 2001, the New York Foundation for the Arts granted Mr. Aguirre an Artists' Fellowship.
